The experienced Ghanaian defender has extended his deal with the Swedish top-flight returnees in today's transfer dealine window until the next two football seasons

Swedish Allsvenskan side Halmstads BK have announced a two-year contract extension with Ghanaian centre-back Joseph Baffo in this ongoing winter transfer window.

The 30-year-old defender ,who played an integral role in their qualification to the Swedish top-flight last season, was determined to extend his stay with the newly-promoted top division outfit ahead of the start of the new football campaign.

Having appended his signature to the new deal, the ex-Helsingsborgs IF stopper had this to say: '' It Feels good to have it done. As I said before, I have enjoyed myself very much at the club and it feels good to now be able to continue. The body feels good and I'm looking forward to an Allsvenskan season.''

Manager Magnus Haglund added this to his club's official website: ''Joseph has been our first choice the whole time and we have had a good dialogue for a long time which has now resulted in Joseph being an HBK member for a while to come. Joseph is well established in our way of working, both through training and how we conduct matches. Interaction with others in the back line and with the goalkeeper, which also has a great importance. All in all, we are very satisfied with this.''

Baffo made 19 appearances by scoring 7 goals in league games for Halmstad BK in the Superettan during the 2022 football season.

The Accra-born centre-back is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international level despite featuring for the Swedish national youth sides.
