Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil continued his blistering performance for LA Galaxy with a goal and assist in their resounding away win over Vancouver Whitecaps in the Major League Soccer (MLS) on Saturday night.
LA Galaxy inflicted a painful 3-1 home defeat on Vancouver Whitecaps at the BC Place Stadium to move top of the Eastern Conference of the MLS after eight matches.
Dejan Joveljic netted his sixth goal of the season for LA Galaxy in the 56th minute to open the scoring after no goal was produced in the first half. Brian White leveled the score for the hosts in the 77th minute of the game.
Three minutes later, Painstil calmly restored the lead for LA Galaxy when he pounced on a pass from Riqui Puig before assisting Diego Fagundez to seal their win with the third goal in the 82nd minute.
Painstil has scored three goals and provided three assists in eight appearances for LA Galaxy in the Major League Soccer this season so far.
He joined the American club from Belgian Pro Jupilier giants KRC Genk in February for a transfer fee of €8.50 million.
