English Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion have announced the signing of Kofi Ashton Shaw from Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old has departed the English League One side, having spent four years at the club after earning a promotion from the club's youth side to make a senior appearance in April 2024 against Wigan Athletic.

The club's official statement reads: “We’re pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Kofi Shaw from Bristol Rovers, subject to the completion of the usual regulatory processes.”

“The 18-year-old midfielder will join up with Shannon Ruth’s under-21 squad.”

He has been included in the Brighton's U21 team for the 2025–26 season's campaign and expected to earn a promotion to the first-team in few years.

Kofi Shaw's journey to stardom

Kofi Shaw started his career in West Bromwich Albion’s academy before joining Bristol Rovers in 2023. He made his first-team debut against Wigan Athletic on the final day of the 2023/24 campaign.

Last October he joined Yeovil Town on loan and made 16 National League appearances for them, becoming the second-youngest goalscorer in their history against Hartlepool United in December 2024.

He was recalled from his loan spell in February and made 13 League One appearances for Rovers.

His progression and transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion, one of the Premier League’s most consistent hotbeds for nurturing and growing young players, is a testament to his incredible abilities and talent.
