The experienced attacking midfielder has extended his contract with the Bundesliga outfit ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Former Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has signed a new one-year contract with German top-tier club Hertha Berlin after a fruitful negotiations.

 
The 35-year-old will be staying at the Olympia Stadion outfit until the summer of 2023 following the new contract agreed between both parties on Wednesday.
 
The club's official statement reads “Last summer, Prince Boateng returned to his old place of work. To where it all began 28 years ago - and now everything is continuing: at Hertha BSC! Born in Berlin, he is extending his working papers until 2023 and will also wear the jersey of our Spreeatheners in the coming season.”
 
Boateng featured in twenty-one (21) games for Hertha Berlin during the 2021/22 season in all competitions.
 
 "It wasn't just in the relegation that we saw the importance of Prince for our team. He is our leading player, goes ahead and pulls everyone along. Exactly these qualities are what we need in the coming season as well,” Hertha Berlin Sporting Director Fredi Bobic explained.
 
Boateng also expressed his gratitude to the club for offering him another year to stay at the Olympia Stadion.

Boateng has previously played for several clubs in Europe including AC Milan, Tottenham, Schalke 04, FC Barcelona among others.
