Ghana international Kudus Mohammed was on target for AFC Ajax in their disappointing 3-1 loss to Union Berlin to bow out of the UEFA Europa League.
The Jews exited the Champions League earlier this season and dropped into the Europa but failed to cruise pass the playoff round after playing out to a goalless stalemate in the first leg.
Robin Knoche opened the scoring account for the Iron Ones on the 20th minute from the spot, Croatian international Josip Juranovic doubled the lead 24 minutes later before setting up Danilho Doekhi for the third.
Kudus Mohammed scored the consolation goal right at the start of the second half to extend his goal tally to 14 in all competitions this season.
AFC Ajax will now shift over their attention to the Eredivise where they will face Vitesse Arnhem in the next round of matches this Sunday, February 26, 2023.
