The talented forward is close to full recovery to commence first-team training according to the Italian coach

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has provided a refreshing update on Mohammed Kudus' injury recovery, confirming the Ghana international will be joining the team after the team's pre-season tour in New Zealand and Australia.

The 25-year-old has been sidelined for nearly seven month after initially picking up a serious quad/thigh injury in early January 2026 during a Premier League game against Sunderland. He suffered a major recovery setback in April 2026 after a brief return to training, forcing him to miss the remainder of the Premier League season and the 2026 World Cup.

De Zerbi in a pre-match interview ahead of Tottenham's preseason game against Auckland FC confirmed that the exciting attacking midfielder will join the team in London for the team's final preparations for the 2026/27 English Premier League season.

“Kudus is very close. I think when we come back to London he will be available to start working with us. It's a great thing for us. Kudus is another important player.” De Zerbi said.

Kudus is among the notable players of the London-based club, who were left out of the preseason tour, to continue their rehabilitation at the Hotspur Way training center. Other injured players undergoing rehabilitation are Xavi Simons, Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario and Wilson Odobert.

Mohammed Kudus recorded two goals and five assists in the Premier League during the 2025/26 season for Tottenham.
