Kwasi Sibo and Real Oviedo have been relegated from the 2025-26 Spanish La Liga season after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Getafe.

The result confirmed Oviedo’s drop to the Spanish Segunda Division after they finished bottom of the 20-team table.

Oviedo had entered the season with plenty of excitement following their promotion to the top flight, helped largely by the return of former Arsenal FC midfielder Santi Cazorla. However, their stay in La Liga lasted just one season.

The Carbayones needed victory to keep their slim survival hopes alive, but their chances disappeared after two red cards during the game.

Javi Lopez was sent off before Sibo also received a straight red card in the 78th minute after catching an opponent high with his follow-through while clearing the ball.

The Ghana international featured in 26 league matches this season but ended the campaign without a goal or assist.
