The American elite division side are hot on the heels of the 26-year-old winger, with their transfer target man now affirming the interest from the Los Angeles-based club
Ghana international Joseph Paintsil has confirmed interest from Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy, with negotiations currently underway with his representatives.
The KRC Genk versatile forward continues to be a transfer target for the Dignity Health Sports Park campaigners and could be heading to the MLS after instructing his counselors to engage them over his pursuit this winter.
"I had given my broker permission to talk to them after they reported to KRC Genk," the Black Stars man is quoted as saying by Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg. "But I myself have never been concerned with that for a single moment."
He added, " I will only make the decision when I know clearly where I stand. In the meantime, everyone can rest assured, I will give my all to KRC Genk until the very last minute. I am in a luxury situation: while a nice offer is coming, I am completely happy at a club.”
Reports have indicated that the obligatory €8m buy-out clause in Paintsil's contract has elapsed and that the American top-flight outfit will now be compelled to dig deep into their coffers to be able to prise him away from his mother club.
He has so far netted 6 goals and made 4 assists in 22 games for KRC Genk in the ongoing Jupiler Pro League 2023/24 season.
His current deal with the Blue-White will be up on June 30, 2026 and as per his market valuation from transfermakt, suitors have to splash €11m to land him going forward.
