Majeed Ashimeru has been included in Ghana's provisional squad for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup which kicks-off next month.
The RSC Anderlecht attacking midfielder has been invited by coach Otto Addo to be part of Ghana's preliminary squad for the Mundial.
Ashimeru's impact at the heart of the Anderlecht midfield has caught the eye of the national team manager. He has been in excellent form since joining the Purple and Whites, and has bagged two goals, recorded one assist in six league games this season.
The 25-year-old was named the Belgium Jupiler Pro League player of the month of February by RSC Anderlecht and some were even pushing for a call-up to the main Ghana squad.
The exciting youngster was last involved in a Black Stars squad five years ago when he was handed a maiden call-up in two friendly games against Mexico and USA.
Ashimeru's inclusion makes it a double of Mamobi based Strong Tower FC-produced youngsters in Addo's squad after Kudus Mohammed.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup has been scheduled to begin on November 21, with Ghana kick starting their World Cup campaign on November 24 against Portugal and will neck-it-down with South Korea and Uruguay to wrap up their group stage fixtures.
