German Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have announced the acquisition of Danish-born Ghanaian young forward Malik Pimpong in the ongoing transfer window.
Pimpong has been signed on a five-year contract by the Frankfurt-based top-flight league outfit from Danish club FC Midtjylland for an undisclosed fee.
The club’s official statement reads: “Eintracht Frankfurt and Danish club FC Midtjylland have agreed terms over the transfer of striker Malik Pimpong. The 18-year-old Dane, who stands at 1.90m, joins the Eagles on a contract until 30 June 2031.”
Pimpong made 46 appearances – including seven in the UEFA Youth League – for FC Midtjylland U19s over the past two seasons, registering 30 goals and one assist.
The talented attacker found the net 20 times in only 26 U19 Drenge Ligaen outings, and was also part of Midtjylland’s UEFA Europa League squad on two occasions.
The 18-year-old is the son of former Ghana international Razak Pimpong, who featured for the Black Stars during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
Pimpong has racked up 24 international appearances for Denmark’s U17, U18 and U19 sides to date, scoring 12 goals in the process.
