Belgian-born of Ghanaian descent Jeremy Doku is doubtful for Manchester City trip to battle it out with Aston Villa in the English Premier League tomorrow.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has said that he will make a late call on the fitness of winger Jeremy Doku before naming his team for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Aston Villa.

Doku, a £55m summer signing from Rennes, has made a bright start to life at the Etihad Stadium this season, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 19 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions.

The 21-year-old, who has completed the joint-most dribbles (31) in the Premier League this season, was recently named Man City's Player of the Month for November.

However, Doku has emerged as an injury doubt for Wednesday's trip to Villa Park after he was withdrawn shortly after half time in the 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last weekend due to an unspecified leg issue.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Guardiola remained coy over Doku's availability, telling reporters: "We have training this afternoon. I will talk with the doctors and see after."
