Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta feels excited to have Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey back in action after four months and hopes he stays fully fit for the remainder of the season.
The Black Stars midfielder Thomas made an injury return to play in Arsenal emphatic 0-6 away victory over Sheffield United in the English Premier League on Monday evening to extend their winning run to seven.
The Gunners were three goals up inside 13 minutes and increased it to 5-0 at half-time against the league's bottom side before notching up the final in the second half.
Partey, who has been out of action since October 2023, made a return finally when he was introduced as replacement for Italian international Jorginho in the 65th minute.
Due to injuries, the Ghana international has made only five Premier League appearances for Arsenal in this season's campaign with his last game before last night being the win against Manchester City last October.
In a post-match presser, the Spanish tactician is grateful but has urged Partey to continue working harder in order to stay fully fit throughout the season.
"Today obviously Thomas is available now to play a certain number of minutes. He needs to build that, because it was his first minutes after four months which is a long time. And then, like everybody, you need to have the right to earn the minutes," he said after the game.
Thomas Partey will hope for more minutes when they host Brentford to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
