The 24-year-old has extended his stay to another year with the newly promoted German lower-tier side ahead of next term campaign
German-born Ghanaian attacking midfielder Moritz-Broni Kwarteng has signed a new deal with newly promoted Bundesliga 3 side FC Magdeburg for the 2022-23 football league season.
The former Hamburger SV man was handed fresh terms by the MDCC Arena outfit following his remarkable outings in the just ended campaign having joined them during the second half of the season.
Sporting director Otmar Schork expressed his trust in the versatile attacker as they look forward to teaming up with him in the German second division league contest after gaining promotion this term.
“After his break, Moritz developed well with us in the second half of the season. He gradually got used to the level. We look forward to the future together. There is still a lot of potential in Moritz that he can tap into in the 2nd Bundesliga," Schork told his club's official website.
Manager Christian Titz also extols the qualities of Kwarteng having worked together at Hamburger SV.
“I already knew Moritz from Hamburg. At first you could see that he needed some time after a long break. But he improved day by day. With his way of playing football and with his dynamism, he helps us," Titz stated.
The ex-RB Leipzig youth man netted 2 and assisted 3 in 12 league game appearances for Magdeburg in the just ended campaign.
The Stuttgart-born midfielder is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international stage as he is yet to be capped by the Germany senior national team.
