Former Asante Kotoko captain, Richard Boadu has expressed readiness to play for the Black Stars and added it will be a dream come true for him.

The 25-year-old currently plies his trade with Libyan topflight side Al Ahli Benghazi- where he joined in the last summer transfer window.

He started so well and is currently commanding a starting berth almost every week and is arguably one of the fans favourite at the Martyrs of February Stadium.

The bulky midfielder has featured in almost all matches they have played so far, including four games in the qualifying round of the CAF Champions League.

In a latest interview, the ex- Medeama SC midfielder stated the unending supports of Ghanaians is what is giving him the desire everyday to wish he was part of the Black Stars and it's a dream he is really looking forward to fulfilling.

"My dream is to play for the Black Stars and that also inspires me to work harder. I always get excited when I watch Black Stars games considering the support from Ghanaians and others. There is always joy when you play for the national and I wish I can experience it one day”

“Eight of my teammates who command starting roles play for the Libya national team and anytime they leave for national assignment, you become unfulfilled. In terms of players, you can’t compare Libya to Ghana but it is my dream to play for the national. I pray my dream is fulfilled” he added.

Al Ahli Benghazi are currently on the 3rd position on the position on the Libyan Premier League table with ten points after four matches and another game to spare.

Richard Boadu is expected to be in a thick of affairs once more when they play as guests to current leaders Al Nasr on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
