The Magpies have reportedly dropped their interest in signing the 20-year-old agile winger following an exorbitant asking price over his services in this winter window

English Premier League side Newcastle United FC have backed off their chase over  the services of Ghana international  winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, with a transfer fee of £40m being the stumbling block of his pursuit.

The talented winger, who is currently on the books of French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes, has been a transfer target of English Premier League duo of Everton and Newcastle United in this January transfer window.

According to reports from the English media, the asking price of the former FC Nordsjaelland starman has put off the St. James' Park outfit over his chase and is now left with the Goodison Park outfit in their efforts to land him this term.

Report from the Chronicle Live has indicated that manager Eddie Howe instructed the hierarchy of his employers to call off their interest in signing the 20-year-old given his whopping asking fee from the French top-flight side.

Aside Everton and Newcastle, other clubs believed to be chasing the former Right to Dream academy product are FC Augsburg and AFC Bournemouth.

Kamaldeen has been capped 15 times by Ghana at the men's senior national team, the Back Stars.
