Norwich City are on the brink of signing Ghanaian midfielder Forson Amankwah from Austrian side RB Salzburg, as the Canaries look to bolster their squad with a new signing.
The 21-year-old has impressed during his time at Salzburg, gaining valuable experience through loan spells at Liefering and Rheindorf Altach.
The move comes as a result of Norwich's search for a replacement for Gabriel Sala, who recently joined Galatasaray. The club has identified Amankwah as a suitable candidate, and new manager Johannes Hoff Thorup, who has a history of working with young Ghanaian players, is particularly keen on the midfielder.
Amankwah's versatility and potential to develop further have made him an attractive prospect for the English club. Several other clubs expressed interest in the midfielder, but Norwich's offer of first-team opportunities proved decisive.
The Canaries are aiming for a swift return to the Premier League and believe Amankwah can be a key player in their squad. The Ghanaian international, who made his debut for the Black Stars earlier this year, is set to take the next step in his career with a move to England.
