Following a successful trial, the Ghana-prospect youth star has been rewarded with a contract by the Belgian second-tier outfit

Belgian-born Ghanaian youngster Dirk Junior Asare has joined Belgian Challenger Pro League side Lierse SK on a two-year deal, the club have confirmed.

After severing ties with his boyhood side KV Mechelen this summer, the 20-year-old is joining his new club on a free transfer ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Announcing the deal, those in charge of the Herman Vanderpoortenstadion have said via their club's official website; "Lierse reached an agreement with 20-year-old Dirk Asare this afternoon! The central midfielder has been on trial at the Lisp since the start of the preparation."

"Our sports staff is convinced of the qualities of the talented playmaker. During the practice matches Dirk made himself noticed by his agility and technical ability."

"Dirk enjoyed his youth training at KV Mechelen and was included in the A-core under Wouter Vrancken. Last season he was allowed to make his debut in the Jupiler Pro League under Besnik Hasi."

"The young Belgian chooses an adventure at the Lisp to take the next step in his young career."

"Dirk Asare signs a contract for 2 seasons."

Born and raised to Ghanaian parents in Belgium, Asare still remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Belgium U18 & U19 national youth teams.
