Black Stars first choice goalkeeper, Jojo Wollacott has joined English League one side Charlton Athletic on a free transfer from Swindon Town in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 25 year old after passing a mandatory medicals, penned down a three year contract which will keep him with the Valiants until 2025.
Wollacott's heroics earned him a reunion at the Valley with his former boss Ben Garner and is very elated for making this switch. He said;
"I'm delighted. It’s the sort of club that you always want to be at. You always have the ambition to play for such a high-profile club. Obviously walking around the stadium you can feel the magnitude of the club. I’m really happy to be here."
“Ben being here made it an easy decision. We had a really good season last year. Obviously I know how he wants to play and I know how he wants his goalkeeper to play. I feel like, for the next step in my career, he can really develop my game."
Jojo Wollacott, 25, was outstanding for Swindon Town in the just ended season with his stupendous display warranting him a place in the English League two team of the season.
Also, he played a key role in helping the Black Stars to qualify for the 2022 World Cup which will be held in Qatar later this year.
