The former QRM loanee is joining the Austrian top-tier outfit on a season-long loan deal from the French elite division side until the end of the new football season

Austrian Bundesliga club Grazer AK have announced the loan signing of French-born Ghanaian defender Beres Owusu from French Ligue 1 side AS Saint-Etienne.

The 21-year-old loan deal could be made permanent at the end of the 2025-26 campaign as stated by the Austrian outfit.

"Beres Owusu, a young French defensive all-rounder, joins GAK on loan with an option to buy. We already have one in the form of opening goalscorer Ramiz Harakate, and now we're adding a second – another player from France. Beres Owusu, a 21-year-old defensive all-rounder born in Paris and of Ghanaian ancestry, is joining us," a portion of an official confirmation over his loan deal read.

Sporting director Didi Elsneg spoke to his club's official website after securing the Ghana-prospect centre-back this summer: "With Beres, we gain a great deal of flexibility. He has played everywhere in defense and demonstrated his ability in all positions. With his speed, he's a difficult opponent to outplay, and he also has qualities on the ball. I'm delighted that Beres is joining our team."

Owusu remains fit to represent Ghana on the international stage given his Ghanaian heritage.
