The winger of Ghanaian lineage has sealed his free transfer move to the German lower-tier side until the end of the current league campaign

Bundesliga 3 side Hallescher FC have announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian left winger Erich Berko, with the 28-year-old current deal due to expire at the end of the ongoing season.

The former Stuttgart youth product is joining the Leuna Chemie Stadion outfit on a free transfer after ending his stay with Israeli top-flight outfit Maccabi Netanya during the just shuttered winter transfer window.

Sporting director Ralf Minge had this to tell his official communications network right after securing the services of Enrich Berko on a short-term deal: "Hallesche FC had the chance to bring in Erich Berko, an experienced and versatile attacking player. We seized this opportunity and assume that he can help our team with the tasks ahead.”

Erich made 6 appearances in league fixtures for Meccabi Netanya in the ongoing Ligat ha'Al 22/23 football league campaign.

The Ostfildern-Ruit-born winger is still qualified to play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Germany U15, U16 & U17 national youth teams.
