The 28-year-old defender of Ghanaian descent has completed his loan switch to the German third-tier side from his second-tier parent club on transfer deadline day

3. Liga club Viktoria Köln have confirmed the season-long loan signing of German-born Ghanaian defender Frank Ronstadt from 2. Bundesliga outfit FC Kaiserslautern.

The former Hamburger SV full-back joins the Cologne-based club for much game time for the current football season after struggling for playing minutes with his current employers so far.

A statement over the loan signing of the Ghana-prospect read: ''Things were heating up in Cologne-Höhenberg on deadline day. Following Joel Agyekum, Frank Ronstadt also joined Marian Wilhelm's team on loan. 

''Having signed in Kaiserslautern, the full-back headed to Cologne that evening. A look at the Hamburg native's "Transfermarkt.de" profile reveals that he has played in every position. "Franky," however, feels most comfortable on the wing.''

Ronstadt said he is happy to have sealed his loan move with his new side as he is determined to give his all when he begins life at the Sportpark Höhenberg this term, telling the club's official website: ''I'm very happy and, above all, grateful to be here in Cologne from now on. I'll give it my all from the very first training session and show full commitment. I am convinced that I can help the team with my strengths and that we can thus achieve our goals for the season."

Sporting director Stephan Küsters added: ''It was an extremely quick transfer, which was completed last night with the help of FCK at very short notice. Franky is an experienced player we haven't had in our ranks before, and he enriches us across the board."

after playing for the Germany U16, U17 and U19 national youth teams, the Hamburg-born right-back still remains fit to represent Ghana at the international level.
