The forward of Ghanaian descent has completed his transfer move to the German fourth-tier outfit in this ongoing winter transfer window
German-born Ghanaian striker Vincent Ocansey has joined German Regionalliga West IV side Wuppertaler SV from fellow league rivals Türkspor Dortmund, the club have confirmed.
The 24-year-old is joining the Stadion am Zoo campaigners on a short-term deal until the end of the current football season.
An official statement confirming the deal read: ''The WSV has reacted to the departures and injuries during the winter break and signed a new striker: Vincent Ocansey is moving from league rival Türkspor Dortmund to the Stadion am Zoo. The 24-year-old is available to the team immediately and will travel to the training camp on Monday.''
Right after appending his signature to the deal, the former Hammer SpVg man had this to tell his new employers via the club's official website: ''I am delighted to be part of the Wuppertal sports club and look forward to the opportunity. The WSV is a club rich in tradition with great fans and I want to do my part to ensure that we have a successful second half of the season together. I can hardly wait to be on the pitch with my new teammates.''
Club's sporting director Gaetano Manno added to his communications network: ''Vincent is a player who can help us immediately with his dynamism, physical strength and good attitude. He showed what he can do in both games against us. Sebastian Tyrala knows him well and we have been watching him for a while. We are happy that he has decided to terminate his contract and is now with us. He also has good qualities and a lot of potential. With his size and presence up front, we are now well positioned in attack.''
Before joining Wuppertaler SV this winter, he netted 2 goals and assisted 2 in 17 league games for Türkspor Dortmund in this Regionalliga West 2024-25 football campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, Ocansey remains fit to play for Ghana at the international level.
