German-born Ghanaian youth star Julian Etse has joined relegated 2. Bundesliga side SSV Ulm 1846 from VfL Bochum on a three-year deal, the club have confirmed.

The 19-year-old budding star is linking up with the Die Spatzen on a free transfer move ahead of the 2025-26 season.

"Julian Etse, a young talent from VfL Bochum, has joined SSV Ulm 1846 Fussball, signing a contract until 2028."

"The 19-year-old's full name is Julian Yao Mawuli Etse. He has been playing for VfL Bochum since 2018, has always been a mainstay, and regularly trains with the senior team."

"He has made 18 appearances in the DFB Youth League this season, scoring three goals."

"Julian Etse will wear the number 4 for the Sparrows."

The Ghana-prospect defender had this to say right after sealing his move to his new employers via the club's official website: " I'm happy and grateful to be signing my first professional contract with this storied club. I can't wait to give it my all in front of the fantastic fans at the Donaustadion."

Sporting director Markus Thiele added: " Julian Etse is a very talented young player who has impressed us with his style of play. He brings many of the qualities we expect from a central defender. We believe he can make the leap into professional football and will give him the time he needs to get used to everything."

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the promising talented teenager remains fit to represent Ghana on the international stage.
