The ex- inter Milan guardsman has joined the Turkish second-tier side ahead of the transfer deadline day

Ghanaian centre-back Isaac Donkor has completed his move to the Turkish 1.Liga side Adanaspor on a one-year deal, the club have confirmed.

The 29-year-old, who once spent two seasons with his current employers, is staging a return to the Adana Stadium campaigners on a free transfer this summer.

An official confirmation over his signing read: "Our club signed a 1-year contract with defender Isaac Donkor, who previously played for us in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons."

"Meeting with our Club President Asil Bostancı in Istanbul, Donkor signed the contract that reconnected him to the Orange-White colors."

"Born in Kumasi, Ghana in 1995, Isaac Donkor moved to Italy with his family at a young age. The defender, who started playing football in Italy's Padova Jug team, attracted attention at the age of 15 and was transferred to the youth academy of Inter, one of the Italian Serie A teams. Continuing his development here, Isaac Donkor took the first step towards professionalism here. He wore the uniform of Inter, Bari, Avellino, Cesena, Cs U Craiova, Strum Graz, our Adanaspor and Sakaryaspor teams respectively."

"Defender Isaac Donkor, an Italian citizen who has been playing in the Turkish First League for the last four seasons, has played a total of 302 official matches in his football career, 123 of which were in the First League."

 The former Ghana U20 star is joining the Turkish outfit on the back of great experience in top-flight football following stints with Inter Milan, CS Universitatea Craiova and Sturm Graz so far in his career.

He's yet to earn his international cap with the Ghana men's senior national team, the Black Stars.
