The Belgian top-tier side have announced the loan signing of the 29-year-old forward ahead of tonight's transfer deadline day in Belgium
Ghanaian striker Grejohn Kyei has joined Belgian Jupiler Pro League side Royal Charleroi on a season-long loan deal from Standard Liège, the club have confirmed.
The former Stade Reims frontman, who joined the Liège-based club on a three-year deal in the just ended window, will now spent the rest of the 2024-25 season at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.
Announcing the loan deal in an excerpt statement, the Charleroi-based club have said their contractual obligations with the striker could be made permanent upon purchase basis at the end of the campaign, stating on their club's official website: "Sporting Charleroi and Standard Liège have reached an agreement for the 24/25 season on the basis of a loan with option to buy the player Grejohn Kyei."
"Aged 29, Grejohn Kyei is a right-footed central striker (French/Ghanaian) trained at Stade de Reims."
Prior to his transfer loan switch, Kyei figured in 6 league games for Standard Liège in the ongoing Jupiler Pro League 24/25 campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, he remains qualified to play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the French U21 national youth team.
