The teenage sensation of Ghanaian origin has been tied to a new deal by the German superpower outfit, with the new terms set to expire in the next three football campaigns
German-born Ghanaian teenager Michael Scott has signed a three-year contract extension with Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich, the club have confirmed.
The 18-year-old nimble left-footed winger has been magnificent with the youth ranks of the Bavarian outfit and has now been tied down to a long-term contract given his promising talent as a future prospect.
FC Bayern has extended the contract with Michael Scott (born February 2, 2006) early. The U19 winger has committed to the German record champions until June 2027. Scott came to the campus from Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the summer of 2021 and is a permanent member of the U19 team this season . In a total of 17 appearances in the Junior Bundesliga and the Youth League, the Cologne native has nine scorer points (5 goals, 4 assists)," a club's statement confirms the extension deal of the budding Ghana-prospect.
Sporting director at the youth team level Halil Altintop is convinced the 18-year-old has progressed immensely since joining them three years ago and would go ahead to develop further now that he has penned a contract extension, telling the club's official website: "Scotty has been with us for almost three years now and has developed very well during this time. He is also a good boy with the right attitude. We are convinced of his potential and are very pleased that he has extended his contract for the long term and wants to take the next development steps with us."
He has so far netted 3 and assisted 2 in his 11 game appearances with the Bayern Munich U19 side in the ongoing U19-Bundesliga S/SW/ 23/24 football campaign.
Michael is the younger brother of Hannover 96 attacking midfielder Christopher Scott and both of them still remain eligible to switch allegiance and represent Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Germany national youth teams.
