The English fourth-tier side have announced the re-signing of the talented defender of Ghanaian descent from his parent club on loan until the end of the season

London-born Ghanaian defender Travis Akomeah has reunited with League Two club Gillingham FC from Championship side Watford for another loan spell for the rest of the current campaign, the club have confirmed.

The 20-year-old former Chelsea youth star, who spent the first half of the season on loan at the Priestfield Stadium, is now all set to finish the entire term with the lowly division side for the 2025-26 campaign.

An official confirmation over the loan deal reads: ''Travis Akomeah has rejoined the Gills on loan from Watford until the end of the season. The centre-back, 20, played eight times for the Gills earlier in the campaign during his first loan spell, making his first league start on December 6 away to Colchester United. His last appearance came against Fleetwood at Highbury on December 20. He will be available for selection for this Saturday's league game at Harrogate.''

The Ghana-prospect defender has told his club's official media channel: ''I am very happy to continue my spell; I really enjoyed the first half of the season so I am now looking forward. We have a great group of boys, good coaching staff and I really like the vibe in the changing room - there is a good team spirit."

The budding star has so far taken in 8 games for The Gills across all competitions during the first half of the season.

After featuring for the England U17 & U18 national youth teams, the London-born defender remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level given his Ghanaian heritage.
