Ghana international midfielder Alhassan Wakaso has joined Portugal Liga 2 side Leixões S.C.on a one-and-a-year deal in the just ended transfer window.
The experienced defensive midfield enforcer is joining the Estádio do Mar Stadium outfit on a free transfer having exhausted his deal with Cypriot side Olympiakos Nicosia in 2021 football campaign.
Leixões S.C.took to their official twitter handle to announce the capturing of the 1.8 m tall midfield enforcer in the just ended window: "Welcome, Wakaso ??
Midfielder Wakaso plays for Leixões. The 31-year-old Ghanaian signed for a season and a half and will now be able to include Vítor Martins' options for the game with CD Trofense #ArmadaDoMar #Wakaso?⚪️"
Wakaso has a vast experience in the Portuguese top-flight football competitions after featuring for Vitória Guimarães SC, Rio Ave FC and Portimonense.
Alhassan is the sibling of Mubarak Wakaso who is currently on the books of Chinese Super League side Shenzhen FC.
Alhassan has 2 caps for Ghana at the men's senior national team, the Back Stars.
