Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has paid a visit to Abdul Mumin in Spain as the Rayo Vallecano defender continues his recovery from a thigh injury sustained in late March.

The 26-year-old centre-back has been out of action since suffering the setback during Rayo Vallecano’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla on March 31, 2025 in La Liga.

With Ghana preparing to participate in a four-nation friendly tournament in London later this month, Addo’s visit forms part of ongoing efforts to monitor the fitness and progress of key players.

The upcoming tournament will see Ghana face Trinidad & Tobago, Nigeria, and Jamaica, with matches scheduled for May 28 and June 3, 2025.

Mumin, capped nine times by Ghana, missed the Black Stars’ recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar and will also sit out the London friendlies. However, the defender welcomed the coach’s visit and shared positive updates on his rehabilitation.

The Black Stars technical team remains optimistic about Mumin’s return in time for the crucial World Cup qualifying matches in September.
