Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has touched on the reasons he had to wait till full time to show off his inner shirt who has a tribute to Christian Atsu who sadly passed on a month ago
The Gunners came from a goal down to beat AFC Bournemouth 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium last Saturday in match-week 26 of the English Premier League.
The Cherries opened the scoring account in less than a minute from kickoff through Philip Billing before Marco Senesi doubled the lead eleven minutes from the break.
Thomas Partey started the comeback on the 62nd minute, Ben White equalised subsequently before Reiss Nelson sealed the win on the 90+7 minutes.
Speaking in an interview, Partey stated he couldn't show off his final message at the time he scored to start the comeback because they were down at that moment and needed the win badly to maintain their lead at the top of the league.
"I wish I could get the chance to dedicate this to him [Christian Atsu]," Partey said after Arsenal's comeback win over Bournemouth
"We all saw that we have to believe and I believe that I dedicated the goal to him. At the end, I am happy, I wish that he rests well in peace."
Arsenal have maintained their points lead at the top adrift second-place Manchester City and will face Sporting CP in the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday
