Arsenal star, Thomas Partey believes that although they delivered a robust showing against Newcastle, it was unfortunate they lost 1-0 at St James Park.

The Gunners on Saturday succumbed to their third winless run in the Premier League, having recorded two defeats and one draw in their last three topflight games.

Arteta and his men were bitterly disappointed to come away from the North-East empty handed, posing a major blow to their title hopes.

“I would say it's a difficult place to play. They have a lot of quality players. We did our best to try to turn things around; unfortunately, we could not," Partey who was deployed at right-back against Newcastle stated.

Arsenal are currently fifth with 18 points on the Premier League table. They will next sit at home and host Chelsea on Sunday, but prior to that they will travel to Italy this Wednesday, November 6, to take on Inter Milan in the Round 4 encounter of the Champions League.
