Former striker of Asante Kotoko Abdul Samad Oppong is set to embark on a new career path as a soldier in the United States of America, having graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
Oppong who is widely known as "Okocha" due to his deftness on the field of play, retired from professional football in 2019 and relocated to Columbus, Ohio, USA, where he has since been residing.
During his heydays, Samad had stints with King Faisal, New Edubiase United and AshGold before leaving the shores of Ghana.
He will be joining another former Asante Kotoko player, Mark Adu Amofah who enlisted recently in the USA military.
