Ghana and AS Saint Etienne attacking-midfielder, Augustine Boakye states playing for the Black Stars has always been a dream he is looking forward to achieve and will be ever ready for an invite anytime it drops.
The 23-year-old left the shores of Ghana in 2021 after a memorable and amazing three-year spell with West African Football Academy- where he developed very well to be ready for the European challenge.
Having spent another three years with Austrian topflight side Wolfsberger AC, Augustine, joined French Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne just last summer following his stellar and impressive display at the Lavanttal-Arena.
Speaking in a recent interview with Flashscore, the mercurial playmaker stated he admires Ghana great Sulley Muntari and is hoping to play for the Black Stars in future.
"I’m from Ghana, so it would be a dream to play for the country, but I am not going to force it and say I have to play in the national team."
"The call-up could come today or tomorrow; I don’t know when, but when it comes, it will be good and I will be ready," he added.
Despite battling some injuries, Augustine Boakye has made five appearances for the Greens and will hope for more minutes when they host Strasbourg in the next round of matches.
