Ghanaian striker Abdul Aziz Yakubu continued his impressive performance in the Portuguese top-tier league with a brace and assist in Rio Ave big win over FC Porto on Sunday evening.
Rio Ave recorded a 3-1 home win over FC Porto to record their first win of the season at the Estadio dos Arcos.
The 23-year-old opened the floodgate for the Green and White lads with a brilliant strike on 22nd minute before setting up Pedro Amaral to double their lead on the 33rd minute of the game.
Yakubu extended the lead to 3-0 to the first half for Rio Ave with another spectacular goal on the stroke of halftime.
FC Porto snatched the consolation goal through Toni Martinez in the dying embers of the game after a 62nd minute spot-kick had been squandered by Mehdi Taremi.
He was replaced by his compatriot Emmanuel Boateng after enjoying 71 minute of the game.
