The full-back will go separate ways with the Portuguese top-flight outfit following the expiration of his contract this coming summer having spent two seasons at the Estádio do FC Vizela
Ghanaian international left-back Richard Ofori will leave Portuguese Primeira Liga side FC Vizela when his current deal comes to a close in June this year, the club have announced.
The 29-year-old, who joined the Vizela-based club in July 2020 as a free agent, has decided to end his romance with them given his avidness to seek another challenge elsewhere over his career ahead of the summer transfer window.
FC Vizela statement confirming the departure of the former Ghana U-20 defender reads;
"Left winger ends contract in June. He played 56 games from Queen to Chest,"'
"Richard Ofori will leave FC Vizela at the end of June, when the contract between the parties ends. The Ghanaian left-back served two seasons and played 56 challenges. In 2020/21, his debut season, after being rescued from AD Fafe, Ofori played 26 games in a total of 1334 minutes. He helped to climb the division and stayed to help in the I Liga, where he played 2069 minutes spread over 30 games in all competitions. Each year he offered a goal,"
"FC Vizela wants to thank Ofori for all the commitment, professionalism and other contributions made to the club throughout this season. We are confident that the call was a success and made both parties happy. At the same time, he wishes the player the best personal and professional happiness for the future."
Ofori played an integral role in FC Vizela promotion to the Portuguese top-flight this term. However, he made 26 league game appearances in the just-ended campaign.
Kickgh.com understands that the former Tudu Mighty Jets rearguard is now on the wanted list of Spanish elite sides and could snap up his services ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Accra-born defender is yet to be capped by Ghana at the senior national team level.
