Ghana international Tariq Lamptey has lauded former Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi for his amazing work after playing under his guidance.
Lamptey worked with De Zerbi from 2022-2024 at the Seagulls where the Italian gaffer used him in various roles including left-back, despite being a natural righ-back.
In an interview with 3Sports, Lamptey generously praised and credited De Zerbi, labelling him as a stabilizing force through his unique tactical approach in his time as a head coach of Brighton.
“He’s an incredible coach; tactically, he encourages you to see football from a different angle. I'm thankful for the opportunity to learn from different coaches because that's how you grow as a player - through experiences," Lamptey reflected.
“You strive to enrich your game as much as possible, and his unique approach added a new dimension. We played some superb football, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time under his guidance. I aim to incorporate the lessons he taught me to become a better player,” Lamptey added.
Lamptey, recently, was part of Ghana's team that annexed victories over Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
