Italian second-tier side, U.S Salernitana, are set to gazump Latina to signing of Ghanaian youngster, Maxwell Acosty, Kickgh.com understand.
The two lower-tier clubs are set to exchange blows for the signature of the Ghanaian forward following his impressive loan spell with Latina Calcio last season.
The 24-year-old is being courted by the newly-promoted serie B side as they want to beef up their forward line options ahead of their debut season.
Acosty is owned by Italian top-flight giants Fiorentina and according to Tuttosalernitana.com, the Salerno-based club have now step up their chase for the versatile forward since his loan stint ended with Latina.
The promising frontman have had stints with Modena, Carpi, Chievo and Juve Stabia all on loan basis.
