United States public institution Utah Valley University have completed the signing of highly-rated Ghanaian striker Sharif Sayawu, for the spring season.
Sayawu, who hails from Agona Duakwa - which is under 10 kilometres from Agona Swedru, the commercial capital of the area is part of four international athletes including Dan McKay (Wellington, New Zealand), and Toke Amtrup (Svendborg, Denmark), Jacob Deng (Juba, South Sudan).
Sayawu is a former student of Odupong Senior High School in Ofankor.
He played his club soccer at the Phoenix Academy, where it is known as a breeding ground for numerous MLS, USL, and NCAA Division I athletes since its formation in 2018.
Sayawu won his side's top goal scorer gong in 2023, racking up 15 goals, and was adjudged the Phoenix Academy Showcase’s best player in 2024.
