The 19-year-old youth star of Ghanaian descent is currently a subject of transfer target for the English lower division outfit

English Championship side Southampton FC are tracking French-born Ghanaian youngster  Stredair Appuah, a report from the French media has claimed.

The promising teenager, who is currently on the books of French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes, has caught the attention of the former English Premier League campaigners ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

A report filed by newspaper L'Equipe has indicated that the budding talent is now a wanted man at the St. Mary's Stadium and an enquiry over his services has been made as a bid is expected to be launched soon for his possible acquisition next season.

Aside Southampton, relegated French top-flight side Clermont Foot are also eyeing the Ghana-prospect in an effort to secure him next term.

It's understood that FC Nantes are not ready to part with their prized asset as they consider him to be a future prospect for their first team ranks given his impressive displays with the U19 youth side.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, Appuah still remains eligible to play for Ghana at the international level as he's yet to be cap-tied by the French senior national team.
