Portuguese top-flight league side Sporting CP are reportedly opened for discussion over the transfer of Ghanaian young attacker Abdul Fatawu Issahaku this summer.

Despite having a contract with Sporting until 2027, Issahaku does not fit into the plans of manager Rúben Amorim for the upcoming season, and the club is willing to let him leave the club.

The Estadio Jose Alvalade outfit is considering two options: either selling the player’s sporting and economic rights if they receive a convincing offer for the Ghana U23 star, or opting for a loan to facilitate his continued development.

Reportedly, while Issahaku possesses remarkable technical and physical abilities, he has encountered challenges in adapting tactically to the team, an aspect that holds great importance for Amorim.

The 19-year-old winger joined Sporting in April 2022 from Steadfast FC, a lower-tier Ghanaian side, in a transfer worth around US$1.2 million.

His explosive performances for the Ghana national teams, particularly leading them to victory in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in 2021, garnered significant interest and attention.

Having made his debut for the Black Stars and being included in the final squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Fatawu has accumulated 12 appearances across various competitions for Sporting, contributing with one assist.
