Sunderland are reportedly preparing a new bid for the vice-captain of Black Stars of Ghana, Andre Dede Ayew.

According to Sunderland Echo, the Ghanaian winger is still on the radar of the Black Cats' this summer, after a move in January failed.

The Swans were reluctant to sell a prize asset to a direct relegation rival, particularly given that Jonjo Shelvey had just joined Newcastle United.

Sunderland are clearly encouraged that they may be more receptive this time around, though no formal approach has been made so far.

However, Swansea City trainer Francesco Guidolin has already said that he wants him to stay at the club next season and play as a striker.

Ayew made 34 appearances and netted 12 goals in his debut Premiership season for the Swans.
