The Ghanaian stopper has confirmed interest from the Swedish top-flight side as fresh terms are yet to be opened with fellow newly-promoted elite side Halmstads BK
Sweden-based Ghanaian centre-back Joseph Baffo has confirmed talk of negotiations with Allsvenskan side IFK Norrköping ahead of the start of the 2023 football season.
The 30-year-old experienced rearguard, who played an integral role in Halmstads BK qualification to the Swedish top-flight last season, is having his deal expired with the Örjans Vall Stadium outfit and is likely to move on to other suitors this winter.
Given his future uncertainty with the Halmastad-based club, the former Helsingsborg stopper has now revealed talk of negotiations with fellow top-tier side although nothing has been agreed upon yet.
''Yes, there has been some contact there and you'll see what happens," Baffo told Hallandsposten when pressed for the confirmation of interest from IFK Norrköping
''I don't know. As it is now, there is little interest here and there. Then it's a matter of trying to make the right decision, but until then I'm just focusing on feeling 100 and feeling like I can give the iron as soon as I sign wherever I end up. Hopefully I can make a decision very soon.''
Baffo said he hasn't shut the doors for his employers over fresh terms as he is determined to stay put at HBK.
''The door is never closed for HBK," he said.
He made 19 appearances by scoring 7 goals in league games for Halmstad BK in the Superettan during the 2022 football season.
The Accra-born centre-back is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international level despite featuring for the Swedish national youth sides.
