The 19-year-old lateral stopper of Ghanaian origin has completed his transfer move to the Swedish second-tier side in this ongoing January transfer window
Swedish Superettan side Östers IF have signed Swedish-born Ghanaian defender Raymond Adjei from Malmo FF in an undisclosed period of contract.
The enterprising right-back is joining the Visma Arena campaigners on a permanent deal following his successful trials over the past weeks.
Announcing the deal, the Växjö-based club have said via their club's communications network: " During the start of t his year's pre-season, Raymond has been on trial with us and was most recently with us from the start in the match against the county team. Now the 19-year-old right back from Malmö FF joins Östers IF on a permanent transfer."
Right after appending his signature to deal, the 19-year-old teenager had this to tell his official club's website: "I played a lot as an inside midfielder when I was younger and can still play there, but right now I see myself as a full-back. I guess that's where I've played my senior games and for my last four seasons."
He continued, "A serious association with good ambitions that of course match my own and that Foyston's game idea attracted me. The reception has been exemplary where the players and leaders have welcomed me in a nice way."
Adjei, who graduated from the youth ranks of Malmo FF, is still qualified to switch allegiance and represent Ghana on the international stage despite playing for Swedish U15 & U18 national youth teams.
