Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey has lost his sister Basirah, after a short illness in Accra on Saturday, April 20.
The Brighton and Hove Albion's star sister is said to be in her late 40's.
The late Basirah was buried on Sunday afternoon according to Islamic traditions and the funeral rites was officiated by the national Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.
Lamptey had oftentimes spoken in awe of his now late sister; describing her as a pillar in his football career.
Basirah was in charge of the Tariq Lamptey Foundation.
