Black Stars striker, Antoine Semenyo has described his important goal against Nottingham Forest as a confident booster and is looking forward to building on this same momentum in their subsequent games.
AFC Bournemouth began their 2024/25 season campaign with a visit to the City Grounds where they held Nottingham Forest to a pulsating 1-1 stalemate earlier this afternoon.
The 24-year-old secured a point for Bournemouth with a 86th-minute goal as they came from behind to hold Nottingham Forest to a 1-1 stalemate at the City Grounds.
However, Chris Wood earlier, had swept home the Forest opener in the 23rd minute after Cherries goalkeeper Neto parried a Ryan Yates shot to his feet.
Reacting to his goal, Semenyo, who netted 8 league goals last season, shared excitement and is looking forward to getting more goals as the season progresses.
"It gives me confidence for the next coming games," Semenyo told the club's media.
"I think the manager, the assistants have been banging on all preseason that you make it to the back post, you get opportunities and that happened today so just need to keep making the back post to get myself in positions where I’m going to score so just need to keep going," he added.
AFC Bournemouth will host Newcastle United in the second round of Premier League matches on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
