Former Ghanaian international, Michael Essien in an interview earlier this morning has settled the debate that has been on for sometime now picking Thomas Partey over himself as to who is the better midfielder between them.
This discussions has been happening among the Ghanaian football fans for years and usually pops up even though the majority feel Thomas Partey is doing great and has had a descent career but comes no where near the former Chelsea man.
Speaking with Gary Al-Smith this morning on Sporty FM, the FC Nordsjaelland assistant coach described Thomas Partey as a fantastic midfielder.
"Between myself and Thomas Partey in prime, I don't think I will pick myself. I will go for Partey. He is a fantastic midfielder, you know." Speaking to Sporty FM.
Michael Essien enjoyed an amazing twenty years in football having started his career at Ghanaian side Liberty Professionals before subsequently having his first European spell at French side SC Bastia.
He won over 400 caps at club level and featured for European giants like Olympique Lyon, Chelsea, AC Milan and Real Madrid in his playing days.
He made 50 appearances for the Black Stars with 9 goals to boast of and featured in two FIFA World Cup tournaments (2006 & 2014).
