Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo continued his blistering performance for IF Elfsborg with a goal to help them crash out HNK Rijeka from the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League qualification playoffs.
The Swedish Allsvenskan side has advanced to the next round of the competition on a 3-1 aggregate after today's 2-0 home victory over HNK Rijeka at the Boraas Arena on Thursday evening.
Baidoo brilliantly opened the scoring for the Yellow and Black lads in the 68th minute after the first half of the fixture proved to be thrilling with no goal procedure. However, a tactical switch by IF Elfsborg ensured them snatching the lead through the former Vision FC talismanic attacker through a pass from Ahmed Qasem.
Swedish international Ahmed Qasem handed them the qualification ticket to the next round with his strike in the 83rd minute of the game.
Baidoo enjoyed the entire duration of the game with his compatriot Terry Yegbe, while Jalal Abdulai watched the game in the stands due to suspension.
He has now scored nine goals and provided six assists in 23 appearances for IF Elfsborg across all competitions in the ongoing season so far.
