The German top-flight campaigners are Keen to land the services of the 23-year-old widesman on a permanent basis following his successful loan spell so far this term

Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuggart have decided to sign German-born Ghanaian winger Jamie Leweling on a permanent deal from fellow domestic league rivals FC Union Berlin, a report from the German media has claimed.

The former SpVgg Greuther Fürth flanksman joined the MHPArena outfit on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2023. However, his impressive outings in this current campaign have left the Die Roten with no option than to plan to make his loan deal permanent at the end of the term.

A report filed by German tabloid Bild has claimed that the Ghanaian winger met his parent club on Friday and deliberated over his future ahead of the expiration of his loan deal in the summer.

It is understood that VfB Stuggart are ready to activate his €5m purchase option in his contract, but would wait to see how things will pan out at the end of the season.

Leweling has established himself as an integral figure in the set-up of manager Sebastian Hoeneß and the German tactician will be eager to acquire his services given their chances of securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season.

He has so far featured in 24 league games, scoring 2 and assisting 4 for VfB Stuggart in the ongoing Bundesliga 23/24 football campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Germany U19, U20 & U21 national youth teams.
