Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is currently in the West African nation for holidays with his family and friends following the break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Nketiah, who was born to Ghanaian parents in London, was among the players who failed to make England's final 26-man squad list for the mundial in Qatar.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) approached the 23-year-old centre-forward few months ago over a possible switch of international allegiance to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.
It was reported in the local media that Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi of Bayer Leverkusen have has acquired a Ghanaian passports for a nationality switch in future.
Nketiah has managed to score three goals in 18 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions this season.
