Former Ghana attacking midfielder Bernard Mensah continued his scintillating performances in the Saudi Pro League with a solo stunner for Al Tai FC against Al Ahli.

Mensah's strike wasn't enough for Al Tai FC as they suffered a 4-1 painful loss to Al Ahli in their match-week 21 encounter at the Prince Abdul Aziz bin Musa'ed Stadium.

The 29-year-old opened the scoring for the host when he showcased his incredible qualities by taking on four defenders with an unstoppable run to slot the ball superbly past the goalkeeper.

The home side's joy was short-lived when Brazil attacker Roberto Firminio capitalized on a Riyad Mahrez's assist to level the score just before the break.

In the second half, Firminio continued to haunt Al Tai's defense, giving Al Ahli the lead with another clinical finish. Mahrez, who had been pivotal in setting up goals, turned from provider to scorer, extending Al Ahli's lead with a goal of his own eight minutes before the final whistle.

Despite a courageous effort from Al Tai, Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie put the game to bed with a powerful header late in the game, sealing the victory for Al Ahli.

Mensah has now scored ten goals and provided one assist in his 17 league appearances for Al Tai in his debut season in the Saudi Pro League.

He announced a premature retirement from the senior national team of Ghana in November 2020 at age 26.
